  • We offer scanning services for paper photographs only; we do not scan slides or negatives.
  • Photos need to be able to lay flat. Adjust photos so they will.
  • Photos need to be stacked uniformly without regard for whether the image is portrait or landscape.  Once scanned you can rotate them using any number of free photo software (Google's Picassa).
  • We make an effort to scan your landscape photos right side up if they are sent to us that way.   If you send your photos in without regard to their orientation we assume that your plan is to rotate them after they are scanned.
  • We will scan photos on both sides if you select "scan both sides" on the order form.  Front and back scans are in sequence on the DVD and are designated "A" for front and "B" for back (example 3456a 3456b). A consideration in deciding to scan front and back is that you may have to delete the blank backs.  But the information preserved by this free scanning service can be priceless.
  • Photos need to be oriented face up. Face down photos will only show the back if you haven't selected "Both Sides".
  • We scan from the top of the stack down as a rule but do not guarantee that your photos will be scanned in that order.
  • We do not scan photos that are copyrighted.  If we see them we will remove them without scanning them. Do not include them in your order.  See Terms and Conditions.

ORGANIZE YOUR PHOTOS

  • Remove photos from albums or frames and envelopes.
  • Photos need to be at least 3"x3" and no larger than 8"x11".
  • Remove any tape, staples, dirt, dust, or grit.
  • Remove stickiness of any kind as this will cause the photos to double feed.  We do not catch all double feeds.
  • Polaroid’s need to be in a separate pile, not mixed in.
  • Do not send cardboard backed photos.
  • Do not send anything but photos.
  • Separate photos into same size piles of at least 100 photos (when possible).
  • Use index cards to name or number stacks. They will be scanned with the photos.  Do not use post-it notes or paper.  Use index cards only.  The scanned index cards will show up on the DVD and make it easy for you to locate and organize your photos. (We approximate the number of index cards used and credit you for this).
  • Secure the photos with rubber bands and place them in a Ziploc bag for shipping.
  • Use newspaper to fill the voids in the box to avoid damage.
  • Tape the ends of the box with extra tape just to make sure.
  • Though we haven't ever ruined a photo with our top of the line Kodak Photo scanners, high speed scanning is not meant for extremely fragile or high value photographs so don't send them.
We provide inexpensive scanning services  so that you can have all of the fun.

Photo Scanning makes it easy to build a slide show to watch on TV or on a digital picture frame.

Protect your Images

You will have more to do in an emergency than to worry about your photos.

Digitize Your Photographs

Digitize your photographs and store a copy in two or
three places. Problem Solved!

Photo scanning preserves your images as they are now.  Aging, moisture, mold, and some photo albums will eventually ruin your photos.
